Dark Matter Manipulator Is This Week's Biggest Standard Mover, Per MTGGoldfish

The one-mana Reality Fracture self-mill creature topped MTGGoldfish's weekly Standard gainers list, up roughly $10 as Golgari graveyard strategies settle into the set's early metagame.

A one-mana common-looking creature has had one of the wildest first three weeks of any card in Reality Fracture, though exactly how wild depends on who's counting. MTGGoldfish's weekly Standard movers list has Dark Matter Manipulator up 853% this week, to $11.25; our own in-house price mirror, tracking that same printing, tells a different story: $3.43 as of today, October 20, well below both MTGGoldfish's figure and the card's own release-week high.

The card: a payoff that keeps growing

Dark Matter Manipulator, a Human Warlock from Reality Fracture, costs a single black mana for a 1/2 with a simple but efficient package: "When this creature enters, mill three cards. This creature gets +2/+0 for every seven cards in your graveyard." In a deck that's actively filling its own graveyard, that single mana investment can scale into a much bigger body fast, and it does double duty as both a self-mill enabler and a payoff in the same card.

Why now: Reality Fracture's early Standard metagame

Reality Fracture released October 2, and early Standard results have Dark Matter Manipulator showing up as a staple in Golgari graveyard-strategy decks, among the most-played cards from the set, per early metagame coverage. As those graveyard shells get refined and more players pick them up, demand for a cheap, efficient mill-and-grow piece has outpaced the supply of a card still just a few weeks old.

The numbers don't agree: here's what we can confirm

Per MTGGoldfish's weekly Standard movers list, Dark Matter Manipulator leads the board at +$10.07, an 853% jump, pricing it at $11.25.

Checking that against our own first-party price mirror (which tracks this exact printing, Reality Fracture #52, straight from Scryfall's data) tells a different story:

  • Release-week high: $9.95 (September 20, 2026)
  • Trough: $0.73 (October 9, 2026)
  • Current: $3.43 (October 20, 2026 — today)

That's a real swing, roughly +370% off the October 9 trough, but it doesn't match MTGGoldfish's number, and our mirrored current price is well under half of what MTGGoldfish reports. We're naming both figures rather than picking one, since neither is ours to average away. Live Scryfall pricing checked the same day as this piece shows $5.54 non-foil / $3.74 foil for the same printing, in the same range as our mirror and nowhere near MTGGoldfish's figure.
