Gage Fevold Wins Arena Championship 13 with Orzhov Life Gain

Fevold topped Jeff Lin's Mono-Green Landfall for the $10,500 top prize, and both finalists are locked into World Championship 33

Gage Fevold is the Arena Championship 13 champion. Per MTG Arena's winner announcement and Wizards' published decklists, Fevold's Orzhov Life Gain beat Jeff Lin's Mono-Green Landfall in the finals on October 25, 2026, taking home the title and $10,500, and both finalists have already locked in seats at Magic World Championship 33.

The final

Arena Championship 13 ran as a two-day Standard event, October 24–25, 2026, broadcast live on the MTG Arena channel. Wizards' own fact sheet for competitors lists Day One play and broadcast as starting at "9:00 a.m. PST / 16:00 UTC," with Day Two following the same schedule on the Sunday. The finals came down to Gage Fevold's Orzhov Life Gain against Jeff Lin's Mono-Green Landfall, and Fevold took the trophy.

Per the official final standings on magic.gg, the full top-8 payout was:

Place Player Prize
1 Gage Fevold $10,500
2 Jeff Lin $7,000
3 Elad Stettner $5,000
4 Yuuki Ichikawa $5,000
5 Adriano Moscato $3,000
6 Adam Edelson $3,000
7 Jordan Maier $3,000
8 Bernardo Santos $3,000

Wizards' metagame breakdown confirms both finalists "secure their seats for Magic World Championship 33 in December 2027," while the full top 16 earns invitations to Pro Tour Nauctis.

What was actually winning: the metagame behind the result

That same breakdown puts three archetypes ahead of the pack. Mono-Green Landfall led the field at 29 players (16.5%); Dimir Uldaros, described by Wizards as "the breakout deck of Reality Fracture," came in second at 25 players (14.2%); and Fevold's own Orzhov Life Gain rounded out the top three at 21 players (11.9%), which Wizards credits as "buoyed by Enlightened Confidant." Those three archetypes made up 42.6% of the full field between them, even with 32 different archetypes showing up overall. Wizards describes the format as "a highly interactive format where cheap disruption can make all the difference": cheap removal was doing the heavy lifting in both main decks and sideboards all weekend.

Enlightened Confidant, the card Wizards names as the engine behind the winning archetype, is a Reality Fracture mythic. Checked directly against Scryfall, its text reads: "Lifelink. At the beginning of your end step, if you gained life this turn, surveil 1. If you put a card with mana value less than or equal to the amount of life you gained this turn into your graveyard this way, put that card into your hand." It's a two-mana Kor Cleric that turns every life-gain trigger into card selection and card advantage, exactly the kind of grindy value piece that rewards going long into game three.
