Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek Beams Into Preview Season Today

Previews for the November 13 crossover set kicked off today with a YouTube/Twitch debut; four Commander decks reveal one per day next week, while Wizards has confirmed shipping delays on several non-Play-Booster products in Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Magic: The Gathering's biggest crossover of the year just went live. Preview season for Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek opens today with a debut broadcast on the official MTG YouTube channel and Twitch, followed by the WeeklyMTG Aftershow. The set itself hits tables November 13, 2026.

The final frontier joins the Multiverse

Star Trek is Magic's fourth Universes Beyond crossover of 2026 and the year's closing set. Wizards says it brings "captains, starships, and stories" from the franchise into the game, with new cards, new mechanics, and Booster Fun treatments built around the property. As of this morning, more than 130 cards across the main set and the companion Commander product were already viewable on Scryfall's database -- a meaningful share of the set before the full gallery even drops.

Marquee legendary creatures already confirmed include Captain James T. Kirk and Captain Kathryn Janeway, alongside crew members, starships, and Starfleet/Klingon-themed support cards.

How the preview season is structured

Daily previews run through October 29, with Wizards' official Card Image Gallery updating on a Monday–Friday cadence. The full gallery, every card in the set, goes live October 30.

Four precon Commander decks get their own spotlight, one per day, in the preview season's final stretch:

  • October 26 — We Are the Borg
  • October 27 — Federation Fleet
  • October 28 — Klingon Fury
  • October 29 — Landing Party

Wizards is also running the reveals across a wide net of content creators and outlets (social accounts, streamers, and gaming press) rather than funneling everything through a single channel.

Shipping delays: what's affected (and what isn't)

Four days before previews began, Wizards posted a regional product-delay notice (October 16) that's worth flagging for anyone preordering outside the US. Per that announcement:

  • North America: Commander decks may arrive after the November 13 release date.
  • Europe/Middle East/Africa: Collector Boosters (English, French, German) are delayed past release; French and German Commander decks and Collector's Edition Commander decks are delayed past the November 6 Prerelease; English Commander decks, Draft Night, Scene Boxes, and Beam Me Up Bundles are delayed past release.
  • Asia-Pacific: Collector Boosters, Omega Collector Boosters, Bundles, Beam Me Up Bundles, and Draft Night are delayed past release, with Scene Boxes specifically delayed in New Zealand.

Wizards was explicit about what's not affected: "Play Boosters and Prerelease Packs are on track for availability during Prerelease and release events." No products were announced as cancelled outright: these are described as delays, region by region.
