Magic World Championship 32 Set for November 13-15 in Atlanta, $1 Million on the Line
134 invited players will draft a brand-new Star Trek set the same day it releases, then battle it out in Standard Constructed
Magic's biggest stage of the year now has a date, a building, and a number attached to it: Magic World Championship 32 runs November 13–15, 2026, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, with a $1,000,000 total prize pool on the line.
Who's Playing, and For What
Wizards' fact sheet for competitors puts the field at 134 invited players, drawn from several qualification routes: the Top 8 from the previous World Championship, Pro Tour competitors who hit 36 or more match points (or a Top 8) in the 2025–2026 season, the top finishers from Regional Championships (two seats each from the US, Canada, Europe, and Japan, one from other regions), top finishers from the Arena and Magic Online championships, and the Top 32 of the Pro Tour rankings.
The money is weighted toward the top, and every competitor in the 134-player field is guaranteed at least $4,000, regardless of final placing:
- 1st place: $100,000
- 2nd place: $50,000
- 3rd–4th: $25,000 each
- 5th–8th: $20,000 each
- Everyone else in the field: $4,000 minimum
The Format: Two Decks, Fourteen Rounds
Competitors play both a draft format and Standard Constructed across 14 Swiss rounds before the cut to a single-elimination Top 8. Friday and Saturday each carry three draft rounds and four Standard rounds (50 minutes per round), with the Top 8 playing best-of-five matches on Sunday.
The draft format is Star Trek Booster Draft, built around the Star Trek crossover set. Scryfall's release calendar lists Star Trek's official set release as November 13, 2026, the same day the World Championship begins, so the 134-player field will be among the first to draft it competitively.
