Reality Fracture Spoilers Are Live — A Color-Shifted Snapcaster Mage Headlines the Echoverse
Magic's next set closes the three-year Metronome arc on October 2, with mirrored legend pairs, a 500-copy serialized Headliner, and a full precon and Secret Lair lineup.
Spoiler season is underway for Reality Fracture, the set Wizards of the Coast is using to close out Magic's three-year Metronome storyline, and the early cards already have Constructed players paying attention. The set releases worldwide on October 2, 2026, with prerelease events running September 25 through October 1 and an MTG Arena release on September 29.
The Echoverse: A Dark Mirror of the Multiverse
Reality Fracture is set in the Echoverse, a "what if?" version of the Multiverse conjured by planeswalker Jace Beleren. At its center sits Hexhaven, a twisted inversion of Strixhaven, and a cast built around mirrored pairs of legends — two versions of the same character pulled from parallel realities. Every pack guarantees one of these mirrored pairs, and according to Mark Rosewater, the majority of them are brand-new cards rather than reprints.
Early Spoilers Worth Watching
Twenty-one cards are spoiled so far, and two are already generating buzz:
- Stingcaster Mage — a color-shifted riff on the modern staple Snapcaster Mage, exactly the kind of card that gets eternal-format players' attention the moment it's revealed.
- Bloodline Recollector — the set's Headliner card, being printed as a serialized edition limited to just 500 copies worldwide.
Also confirmed: a reprint of Torch of Defiance and a new card called Chill of Compliance, with more spoilers expected daily as we approach release.
