Secret Lair Debuts Mystery Booster Commander Edition at Retail Inside $249.99 Festival in a Box: Atlanta
Launching October 19 at MagicSecretLair.com for $249.99, Festival in a Box: Atlanta 2026 bundles a Secret Lair drop with the first wide release of Mystery Booster Commander Edition
Wizards of the Coast announced on October 5 that Festival in a Box: Atlanta 2026 launches October 19 at MagicSecretLair.com for $249.99, limited to two per customer — and tucked inside is a full 24-booster Mystery Booster Commander Edition box, the first time that product has appeared in what Wizards calls "a wide Magic release."
What's in the box
Festival in a Box bundles three pieces built around MagicCon: Atlanta:
- Mystery Booster Commander Edition — a 24-booster box of reprints, new-to-Magic commanders, and playtest cards built for Commander Draft.
- Secret Gallery: Atlanta Foil Edition — four foil, new-art reprints illustrated by Atlanta-based artists: Parallax Tide, Regrowth, Viridian Revel, and Assassin's Trophy.
- Festival in a Box Promo Cards — four extras: full-art, textless foil versions of Dance of the Dead, Tana, the Bloodsower, and Tymna the Weaver, plus an Auspicious Aquarium playtest card designed and illustrated by Head Designer Mark Rosewater.
Why the Mystery Booster angle matters
Wizards' own booster breakdown puts a new-to-Magic commander in every single pack, non-foil 95.25% of the time and traditional foil the rest, alongside playtest cards and Future Sight frame cards in every booster too. A brand-new set ships inside this box in every copy, not as a rare chase card.
Where the two announcements split is what to call the moment. Wizards describes Mystery Booster Commander Edition as "announced in Amsterdam, premiered in Indianapolis, and making its worldwide debut in Atlanta" — in that framing, this October 19 online sale is the debut. Star City Games reads the same facts differently: it says the set "will be making its convention debut at MagicCon Atlanta" (November 13–15, 2026, per the event's official site) and that Festival in a Box buyers "will be able to experience the set early." One source calls the wide retail sale the debut; the other calls the November convention the debut and the online bundle an early look at it. We can't settle which internal label Wizards means by "debut," but the early-access reading is the sharper story: buyers get a full box of a convention product three and a half weeks before the convention happens.
Collecting angle
The four Secret Gallery foils don't carry equal weight with Commander players. Per EDHREC, Assassin's Trophy sits in 700K of 2.18M tracked decks, 32.2% inclusion. Regrowth sits in 115K of 4.70M tracked decks, 2.45% inclusion, a gap of roughly 13x. Parallax Tide and Viridian Revel see even narrower, more niche-synergy play. The draw here is really the Assassin's Trophy foil; the other three are new-art reprints collectors may want for the art alone, not because the cards see comparable table time.

None of the four Secret Gallery cards or four promo cards are currently in Harlequins Market's resale stock — we checked our live catalog before writing this, and it's a clean miss across the board. We're not promising shelf space for anything from this bundle; if that changes, we'll say so when it's actually true.
