Secret Lair's "A Perfectly Normal Superdrop" Lands August 31 With Marvel Pets, Lofi Girl, and Three Artist Showcases

Secret Lair's next superdrop is anything but normal. "A Perfectly Normal Superdrop" goes live at MagicSecretLair.com on August 31, 2026, bundling eight separate drops into one release window — the biggest Secret Lair sales event since the Marvel Super Heroes wave earlier this summer.

What's in the box

Wizards confirmed eight drops launching together, per the official announcement and Secret Lair's own social channels:

• Secret Lair x Marvel: Earth's Mightiest Pets — six cards themed around Marvel's heroic animals
• Secret Lair x Marvel: Hulk SMASH!
• Secret Lair x Marvel: Dan Hipp
• Secret Lair x Marvel: True Believers in Love
• Secret Lair x Lofi Girl: Beats to Cast To — yes, the study-beats streaming mascot is now a Magic crossover
• Cosmic Chill by Robin Eisenberg
• Featuring: Gene Luen Yang, drawing on the Eisner-winning cartoonist's Journey to the West-inspired art

Each drop runs five or six cards. The headline reprint so far: Marvel's Throg takes over the art on Lightning Bolt ({R}, Instant — "Lightning Bolt deals 3 damage to any target"), while Jeff the Land Shark rides in on Shark Typhoon ({5}{U} Enchantment, which mints an X/X flying Shark token off every noncreature spell you cast and can be cycled for the same effect).

Pricing and bundles

Per Wizards' official pricing, each individual drop runs $29.99 non-foil / $39.99 foil. Bundle options range from a Marvel-only bundle up through an Everything Bundle at $519.99. Wizards is also running a loyalty incentive: a foil Command Tower promo for every $199 spent, with free shipping over $99.

The collecting angle

Secret Lair superdrops move fast and don't restock once the order window closes, so anyone chasing a specific card — the Throg Bolt and Jeff Shark Typhoon are the early chase pieces given the crossover novelty — should plan to order the moment the window opens rather than wait. As with all Secret Lair product, these are alternate-art versions of existing cards, not new game pieces, so they're legal everywhere the originals already are.
