Secret Lair's Chaos Vault Adds a Reality Fracture Bundle, Plus Two Artist-Driven Reprint Drops
Duality Distorted reunites four classic Magic artists with reimagined versions of their own old work, and 怪異学校 — Strange School reprints five black staples in a 'macabre manga' style; pricing is confirmed but Wizards hasn't set an on-sale date yet.
Secret Lair's experimental Chaos Vault line just picked up two new drops, and Wizards used the announcement to lay down a bigger policy change: starting with Reality Fracture, every Magic Multiverse set will get its own Secret Lair Bundle going forward.
A new habit: every Multiverse set gets a Bundle
The October 13 announcement on magic.wizards.com introduced the Reality Fracture Secret Lair Bundle, sold in three tiers: an Everything Edition at $234.99, a Non-Foil Edition at $159.98, and a Foil Edition at $179.98. Wizards framed it as a new standard practice: "Starting with Reality Fracture, every Magic Multiverse set will feature a Secret Lair Bundle that combines the set's hottest new cards with a bit of Secret Lair flair." That's a notable structural change for collectors budgeting around future set releases, not just a one-off promo.
Duality Distorted: old art, new lens
The first standalone drop, Duality Distorted, brings back four Magic artists to revisit their own earlier work in retro frame. Per Wizards' own description, each piece was "inspired by one of their earlier works," letting players see "how their style has grown and shifted over the years." The four cards are:
- Thoughtseize
- Desperate Ritual
- Pyroblast
- Tribute to the World Tree
Wizards did not name the specific artists in the announcement.
怪異学校 — Strange School: horror manga meets Hexhaven
The second drop, 怪異学校 — Strange School, pairs black-and-white artwork from Japanese artists and illustrators with five mono-black reprints, going for what Wizards itself calls a "macabre manga" aesthetic. The announcement ties the drop's tone directly to Reality Fracture's Hexhaven setting, contrasting it with the lighter, academic vibe of an earlier Strixhaven-themed Secret Lair. The five cards:
- Attrition
- Bitter Ordeal
- Ophiomancer
- Sign in Blood
- Soul Spike
Pricing and what's still unknown
Both individual drops are priced at $29.99 non-foil / $39.99 foil. What Wizards has not confirmed yet is a sale date: the announcement says only that the drops launch "soon" through the Chaos Vault, exclusively at MagicSecretLair.com. Anyone tracking this one should watch Secret Lair's own site directly rather than waiting for a follow-up on the main news feed, since Chaos Vault drops have a track record of going live there first.
