Secret Lair's Odds and Ends Commander Deck Closes at 8:59 a.m. PT Today — and Orders Past the First Batch Won't Ship Until July 2027
Secret Lair's order window for Commander Deck: Odds and Ends opened at 9 a.m. PT on September 28, 2026 and closes at 8:59 a.m. PT on September 29 — a single 24-hour run. Alongside it, the Chaos Vault opened The Oddlands, a five-part basic-land drop that exists because of this deck.
The part worth reading before you click buy: only a limited quantity ships right away. Everything else ordered during the window is guaranteed fulfillment, but Wizards says it is expected to ship in July 2027 in North America, and August 2027 in the EU and UK. That is roughly ten months out. Secret Lair windows are about securing the product, not holding it next week.
Meet Yennett
The deck is built around Yennett, Cryptic Sovereign, a five-mana Esper (white-blue-black) Legendary Sphinx with flying, vigilance and menace. Her text is more specific than the marketing suggests: whenever Yennett attacks, you reveal the top card of your library, and you may cast it without paying its mana cost if its mana value is odd. If you don't cast it, you draw a card.
That attack trigger matters. Yennett is not a passive engine that filters your deck from the command zone — she has to connect with the battlefield first, and she is a 3/5, so the menace and vigilance are doing real work. The "odd" constraint is the deckbuilding puzzle, which is why the list runs Sensei's Divining Top, Brainstorm, Ponder and Soothsaying to stack the top of the library, and splashy odd-cost payoffs like Profane Transfusion, Ethersworn Sphinx and Master of Predicaments to cheat into play.
What's in the Box
Contents, as published by Wizards:
- 1 ready-to-play 100-card Commander deck
- 12 foil cards with new artwork from Ricardo Cavolo
- 4 foil borderless Plains, 4 foil Islands and 4 foil Swamps from The Oddlands
- 76 non-foil Planeswalker-stamp reprints
- 10 non-foil double-sided tokens
- 1 Yennett display commander (not legal in sanctioned play)
- 1 deck box
Price: $149.99 USD. The deck was designed by Studio X's Megan Smith. Cavolo illustrated all 12 new-art cards himself, including the card layouts — the artwork spills out of the frame and into the text box.
The Oddlands, and the Buy-Three Math
The Oddlands is five separate Chaos Vault drops, one per basic land type — Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain and Forest — each containing 10 copies of that land with Cavolo art. Non-foil is $29.99; foil is $39.99. The Plains, Islands and Swamps inside the Commander deck are the same art as their Oddlands counterparts.
The Chaos Vault hook this time is a quantity break: for every three copies you add to your cart, the cheapest one is free, applied automatically with no promo code. In practice, three non-foil drops list at $89.97 and ring up at $59.98 — 30 basic lands for about two dollars each. Whether that is a deal depends entirely on how you feel about paying two dollars for a Plains, which is a question about art, not about mana.
What Two of the Cavolo Foils Are Worth
Two of the twelve new-art foils are genuinely expensive cards on the open market. (Wizards' own lists put both among the Cavolo foils, not among the 76 Planeswalker-stamp reprints.) Using our own price mirror, as of September 28, 2026:
- Esper Sentinel — $62.32 for the Modern Horizons 2 printing, $59.91 for the MH2 Timeshifts printing
- Sensei's Divining Top — $43.84 for the Champions of Kamigawa printing, $41.54 for the Double Masters 2022 printing
Two caveats, stated plainly. Those are market references for other printings, not for the new-art foil copies in this box, which do not exist yet and have no price history. And a reprint of this size generally pushes a card's price down, not up — so treating these figures as the value you are buying is exactly the wrong way to read them. They tell you what those cards cost right now if you just want the cards.
What We Actually Have on the Shelf
We checked the full 88-card non-basic list against our live inventory on the morning of September 28. We have 34 of the 88 in stock, and the cheapest copy of each totals $45.60 as of September 28, 2026.
That is a third of the deck, and it is the cheap third — the 54 we don't stock include Yennett herself, Esper Sentinel, Sensei's Divining Top, Void Winnower, Toxrill and Breach the Multiverse. This is not a "build it yourself for less" pitch, because you can't. But if what you want is the format staples this precon happens to contain, most of those are already in the case. Cheapest Near Mint copy of each, as of September 28: Sol Ring $1.66, Arcane Signet $0.58, Command Tower $0.31, and Ethersworn Sphinx — one of Yennett's better free-cast targets — $0.19. Played copies go lower still; there is an LP Sol Ring at $1.48.
